A fragrant and crisp shochu, specially distilled from black sesame.
For this refreshingly dry and smoky Kuro sesame shochu, Beniotome Shuzo offers the distinctively rich, oak-barrel matured aromas of its finest shochu, with the warmth and umami depth of black sesame. With a nuttier palate than its standard shochu, this black sesame shochu is strong and invigorating on the nose, brewed with a black koji malt unique to the southern islands of Japan, with high citric acids to carefully build its crisp, rich flavours in humid brewing conditions. This produces a quality shochu with a fresh, delightfully sour finish free from alcohol-burn, and a deeply-satisfying mouthfeel that's wonderful to enjoy chilled, on the rocks or with a spritz of soda water to create a hearty, shochu highball.
