Brewed with mineral-rich groundwater from the mountains of local Tohoku region, this 70% milled junmai sake is known as Kiippon, or 'earnest', for its earnest sweet palate of flavours. Best served hot or slightly warmed thanks to its smooth, umami texture, this well-rounded sake offers juicy pear, melon and banana notes with a crisp finish. Great to pair with tender, salted meats or fish, the mellow sweetness of this junmai helps elevate savoury flavours, as well as provide soothing evening refreshment.
